Feng Ye
Feng Ye is a dancer, choreographer, and educator dedicated to bridging tradition and innovation
through dance. Holding the professional title of China First-Class Dancer, she previously served
as Artistic Director and President of the Dance Company of the China Oriental Song and Dance
Troupe. Her performances have appeared on prestigious international stages, including the
opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games (2004, 2008, 2014).
Since relocating to the United States, Feng Ye has continued to expand her artistic practice
through choreography, performance, and education. She currently teaches in the Department of
Film, Theatre, and Dance at San José State University, and in 2026 serves as a Guest
Choreographer in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Santa Clara University.
Alongside her academic work, she leads the Feng Ye Dance Studio and Dance Troupe, which has produced full-length performances and represented Chinese dance at major cultural festivals across California.
Her choreographic work merges Chinese classical and ethnic dance with contemporary
movement vocabularies, exploring themes of cultural identity, migration, history, and modernity.
Her recent creative activities include collaborations with professional ballet companies and
contemporary dance ensembles in the United States, reflecting her ongoing commitment to
cross-cultural artistic dialogue.
Beyond performance and choreography, Feng Ye is an advocate for cultural exchange in the arts.
She founded the Asian Cultural Foundation to promote artistic collaboration and preserve Asian
cultural heritage, ensuring that dance remains a dynamic force for storytelling, innovation, and
global connection.
