Perú Expressions Dance Academy Founded in 2012, Perú Expressions Dance Academy is committed to promoting the richness of Peruvian culture in the United States through traditional dance. We oNer classes for all ages and levels from social dancing and cultural performances to competitive training.

More than just a dance school, Perú Expressions is a community and a family. Our mission is to educate new generations about the beauty of our heritage, inspiring them to honor, embody, and share it with pride. As a competitive academy, we strive for excellence in every performance. But beyond competition, our true goal is to bring Peruvian traditions to life on stage, in our classrooms, and in every heart we reach. Monica Mendoza – Director, Perú Expressions Dance Academy Monica Mendoza is the founder and director of Perú Expressions Dance Academy, an institution devoted to preserving and celebrating Latin American culture through traditional dance. Monica began dancing at the age of six in her native Peru, quickly earning recognition and winning her first championship at a young age. She went on to become the National Champion of Marinera Norteña, Peru’s iconic coastal dance. After relocating to the United States, Monica continued to rise as a dancer, winning multiple national and international competitions. Her dedication and artistry have established her as a leading ambassador of South American traditional dance, with expertise in styles from Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil. In 2024, Monica proudly represented her heritage at San Francisco Carnaval, where she won the crown by showcasing Marinera Norteña and honoring her Indigenous roots.
