Yang Yang Lyon
Yang Yang Lyon began her distinguished career at the Beijing Dance Academy, where she was granted a full scholarship at the age of twelve. What followed was over two decades of professional achievements, including numerous Gold Medal championship wins and leading roles in major productions. She performed extensively in China and internationally, including with the Chinese National Opera and Ballet and CPAA, and on film with the renowned director, Zhang Yi Mou.
Since 2018, Yang Yang has been instrumental in leading IPAA’s artistic and operational direction, channeling the organization’s creative forces into a unified artistic vision. She successfully guided the dance troupe through the challenges of COVID-19 crisis, extending her contributions to the community by enabling other artists to connect with the public through charitable online classes and performances, as well as community virtual work-outs. She is committed to delivering high-quality productions and is passionate about embracing multiple cultures through dance and choreography.
When she isn’t training, teaching, or choreographing, Yang Yang enjoys spending time with her two teenage daughters and taking walks with her husband, Benjamin.
