
Kyle Ikuma
Kyle Ikuma (he/him) is a northern New Jersey native who began dancing at age 12 with Carolyn Santonicola. He continued his training at Ballet Academy East in New York City, studying under Darla Hoover, Peter Frame, Joseph Malbrough, Maxim Beloserkovsky, Juan Carlos PeƱuela, and Wendy Whelan. Kyle earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Dance Performance from Princeton University.
Since moving to the Bay Area to pursue his engineering career, he has performed with Oakland Ballet, Oceanica Ballet, Stanford Live, and Berkeley Ballet Theater. In 2023, he was named a Scholar-in-Residence at the Vail Dance Festival by Heather Watts and has remained involved in the festival since. His repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, Justin Peck, Jenna Lavin, Michael J. Love, Ronald K. Brown, Robin Dekkers, and Alyssa Mitchel.
